Tea for life
Since the Shang Dynasty in the 3rd century AD, tea has been used as a medicinal drink. By the Tang dynasty it had become a recreational drink and spread to other East Asian countries.
Portuguese merchants introduced it to Europe during the 16th century. By the 17th century, drinking tea had become fashionable in the UK, and launched large-scale production and commercialization of the plant in India.
